Shahin Ahmadian (Lab Director)   Curriculum vitae
Professor

1999, PhD in Biochemistry, University of Tehran, Iran.
M. Sc. in Biology, western Michigan University, USA.
B. Sc. in Biology, University of Tehran, Iran.

Immunocytochemistry and immunohistochemistry of cytoskeleton on cancer cells, Immunogold electron microscopy, the effects of low frequency magnetic fields on biological tissues, cells and cytoskeleton, Study of differentiation and apoptosis on drug induced cancer cells, Cloning and expression and localization of viral proteins are my fields of interest.

Mohammad Barshan-Tashnizi
2005-…: PhD Candidate in Biochemistry, University of Tehran, Iran.
2001-2004: MSc in Biochemistry, University of Tehran, Iran.
1996-2000: BSc in Cellular and Molecular Biology, Shiraz University, Iran.

Enzyme immobilization, application of Sol-gel methods for synthesis of new biosensor system and stabilization of protein and enzyme for biosensor uses are my fields of interest. I try to improve the enzyme stability either by exerting chemical modifications on enzymes or applying site-directed mutagenesis to their structures. My other activities are related to development of Polymer Bonded drugs and exploitation of pH-sensitive hydrogels for protein delivery.
Yaghub Pazhang

2005-…, Ph. D. student in Biochemistry, University of Tehran, Iran.
2002-2004, M. Sc. in Biochemistry, University of Tehran, Iran.
1997-2001, B. Sc. in General Biology, University of Tabriz, Iran.

I am interested in reorganization of microtubules in apoptotic cells induced by chemotherapeutic agents. Apoptosis is a programmed cell death and interesting field for cancer therapy. I am studying on signaling pathways of apoptosis that induced by chemotherapeutic agents in cancer cell line and its relationship with other signaling pathways induced by these agents.

Mehdi Imani

2006-…, Ph. D. student in Biochemistry, University of Tehran, Iran.
2003-2006, M. Sc. in Biochemistry, University of Tehran, Iran.
1999-2003, B. Sc. in Plant Biology, University of Tabriz, Iran.

I am interested in ca2+ signal transduction by EF-hand proteins especially by S100 protein family. MRP8 and MRP14 are the proteins belong to S100 protein family form heterodimeric complex and have many functions such as antibacterial, antifungal and apoptosis inducing activity. My aim is to study the signal transduction mechanism of last function of MRP8/MRP14 complex.
